Gothica ,Nepali Black Metal Band Recently released their Album (EP) DEIFICATION OF THE SABOTEUR (DOTS) online through their official Facebook. But hard copy of DEIFICATION OF THE SABOTEUR was released already in DEIFICATION OF THE SABOTEUR GIG few weeks back.The sole aim of releasing album through online is to let Gothica's music know to Other rather than any other reason.

Nepfest II ICMC Review

Nepfest II was successfully completed yesterday (17th September). It was little bit late to kick start show. Audience were remarkable as compared to first verse of Nepfest.There were alltogether seventeen bands warrior for   Nepfest II. All participants bands completed  their perfomance around 4:30pm. There was an hour break for starting featured  bands to start.From Featured bands Power Metal core band ,Rage Hybrid stood on stage for their performance. Rage Hybrid did 4-5 songs with some originals and few cover. Next  it was Hatebook on stage.Hatebook was winner of Nepfest I. Hatebook  did their orginals numbers including Revenge.After 30 mins of their Perfomance, it was melodic black metal band Kalodin on the stage. As usual they were painted over their faces. They started show with their original Dark Whisper.

The result of Nepfest II is :

Winner : Aimbase

Runner Up: Unholy Sickdom and Forsaken Weirdo.

What Winner Bagged ?

1.Rs.50,000 , will be officially signed by KTM Rocks record label

2.One original song will be recorded by REC Records.

Interview : Hatebook (Death Metal Band) from Nepal

Hatebook is a death metal band from Kathmandu formed in 2006. They had started their journey playing thrash metal initially, but soon they split-up in 2008, and had reformed again in 2010, this time playing death metal. Here is a short interview with the band.

Dead Mariners - Ishwori Download

Dead Mariners is a metal band from Patan, Nepal. Dead Mariners recently released song "Ishwori" from their debut album "Night of fallen Morbid" . Ishwori is Newari song, which is the fusion of classical music and black metal. They have used a Newari instrument called khen in this song.

Interview : GOTHICA

Gothica is a metal band thrashing the underground scene of Kathmandu for quite some years now. After the release of their debut single “Mortal Warriors Die” in late 2008/2009, they’ve come up with their first EP titled “Deification of the Saboteur”. We talk with the band about the album and other things. The interview:

NU: Hi there. Thank you for taking some time for this interview. You guys have recently released your first EP, "Deification of the Saboteur". How have been the responses so far?

Gothica: The response so far has been good. Well, the album has not been widely distributed so we've received very few feedbacks but nevertheless with good tags on it.

NU: How was the whole recording experience? In which studio had you guys recorded the EP?

Gothica: The album was recorded at PHOENIX studio. The entire experience has been tedious and frustrating due to the load shedding problem; but that apart, everything else has been just so awesome. We got to learn quite a few new things. Experimenting was fun and of course the studio people were just too awesome – very patient and creative. Sadly we will miss our trip to the studio.

NU: Was the album self-produced?

Gothica: Yes. We had a deal with Rock Fever to sponsor the album but midst of recording the second song, they wanted us to throw our drummer (due to personal reasons), which we could not and the deal was off. So we decided to do it on our own.

NU: How can we get our hands on the EP?

Gothica: Well it’s not distributed widely. In fact, it’s not distributed at all. But it’s going to be downloadable via our Facebook page itself: http://www.facebook.com/MortalWarriors

NU: Could you describe the concept behind the album title "Deification of the Saboteur", which we had been hearing as the title of the gigs organized by you guys. And what are the overall lyrical themes of Gothica?

Gothica: DEIFICATION is to worship as a deity or a god and SABOTEUR is someone who sabotages. So the album and the songs are based on the political scenario following the many rebellion acts during the past decade who destroyed homes, ruined families, took lives, de-structured what our forefathers constructed with sweat and blood and god knows what not. And sadly those beasts are now deificated and worshipped as they are the ones in ruling power.

There is a line in the song:

“Like an abomination they came across through the darkened land. Will their planted seeds wrong the deeds that our predecessors rightfully paved with just to make it and they break they take they make it pale time will tell tale will tell of the sins they committed and yet they were deificated”

The overall theme has always been political. The lyrics however are not literal. It has hidden meanings to it, look deep into it and you will get our message.

NU: I had read that your lyrics also contain political touch, particularly in the song "Cyborg Cataclysm". Now isn't it strange for a gothic/black metal band singing on political issues?

Gothica: Yes just like all other songs, Cyborg… is written on the tragic event: The Narayanhiti Massacre. The lyrics here include the general public's perspective on what exactly happened there. And about our genre: though when we started the band, we actually planned it to be a GOHTIC/SYMPHONIC metal band but down the line we kept experimenting with our songs and we cannot be called as a gothic or black metal or a symphonic band. Why limit a band to a certain genre when we can keep experimenting and create good music? We are just a metal band and I believe we have the full right to write on political issues.

NU: So do you prefer singing on fictional or real life subjects? Which one do you think provides a stronger meaning to music?

Gothica: Of course on real concrete facts but we like to keep the lyrics like a walnut. You need to crack through it to get to the fruit.

NU: We could see a significant influence of Cradle of Filth in your music. What else bands have influenced you guys?

Gothica: Yeah, Besides CoF, Nightwish, Iron maiden, The faceless, Necrophagist, Death, The Black Dahlia Murder, Dimmu Borgir, Children of Bodom are some of our other key influences.

NU: And we've heard that Gothica is going in hiatus for now?

Gothica: Yes, as three of our members have headed abroad, it will not be before a year that we will be hitting the stage.

NU: The last gig you played was with Kalodin and Unholy Sickdom in Hotel View Bhrikuti, Godavari, a strange location to say. How was the closure gig?

Gothica: The Godavari gig was well… very very unconventional to say the least. It was a very new and weird experience. You know, a gig with awesome carpeting where you could stage dive and not feel a bump, haha. It was an enclosed rooftop venue and a very… well, don’t have the word for it. It was just awesome and it was our last gig (for now) and also our first ever where we did 9 songs in a row.

NU: There have been a HUGE number of line-up changes in the band in past, isn't it?

Gothica: Yes all total there has been 20 members approx who have joined the band. There are members who joined the band, jammed with us but left before even playing gig. So we are a platoon when all of us reunite, haha.

NU: So do you think you'll be reforming anytime in the future?

Gothica: Yes, after one year.

NU: And recording more stuff?

Gothica: I cannot say anything about recording more stuff but we surely are hopeful to.

NU: Alright. Any final words to wrap up the interview?

Gothica: STAY METAL \m/ Amen!

Ruin the faith Spamming Over Facebook/Youtube streaming Antim Grahan Songs

I am shocked from this band "Ruin The Faith". From their facebook it reveal that they formed in 2010. I myself better want to say that they began started copying / downloading AG(Black /Death Metal Giant) of Nepal from 2010. :-D.Dont know why these guys are not feeling guilty by uploading the  songs of AG and claim AG's songs as their original songs.I came across this band few months ago. I did not give a shit for this band initially. But Today I saw their Facebook creating Black Tour.Infact,ktmROCKS is original concept maker for Black Tour. They not only uploaded songs but has been started creating same event as Antim Grahan do. What do they gain doing these. ?

Kiss, rock band from U.S. formed in 1973 is working for their new album. Kiss fixed "Monster" as Album title for their upcoming album.Kiss guitarist/vocalist Paul Stanley stated that new album will be released in 2012.

Scorpions, legendary Heavy metal/Hard Rock band from Germany is touring Nepal coming October. Scorpions were  one of the greatest band of 80's. Formed in 1965 , Scorpions till today's date have released 18th full length studio album. JPR Events is the event Organizer for this event.Previously Jpr successfully organized Bryan Adams Concert in last Year at DasaRath stadium. Jpr fixed October 14 for Scorpions Nepal Tour Date. Iron Maiden The Final Frontier world tour U.K. 2011

Finally, Iron Maiden , pioneer of heavy metal band came their hometown in London.Iron Maiden is on World tour promoting their latest album The Final Frontier.Due to heavy booking London Tour was divided in two days.The venue was the O2 organized by Live Nation. My Friend booked ticket 6th of August costing 42.75 pound.It was a level 4 ticket.Level 4 by means is cheapest ticket :P elaborated my friend.More than 20K fans were there to support Iron Maiden.The gate was opened around 6.30 pm. As per our skype , Iron Maiden appear on the stage at 8.45 p.m. with music of Satellite 15... The Final Frontier.Iron Maiden continuously started playing their numbers accordingly as in their setlist.Most memorable was they used to throw up and caught the guitars incredibly without loosing their riffs.Their performance was just awesome.Wish I was there :D.

Opeth,pioneer of  progressive metal has release the date for their upcoming new album Heritage. The schedule for releasing Heritage is on 20 th september 2011. Heritage is the 10 th full length studio album of opeth .Album will be released by roadrunnerrecords.com .This album will contain 10 tracks.

Mikael Åkerfeldt released statement on Heritage ""It will be our 10th album/observation. I dig it; we all do. In fact, it feels like I've been building up to write for and participate on an album like this since I was 19."

Brutal Fest Gig Review

Brutal Fest was organized by Brutal Pokhara on July 02 Saturday.

Day I

Google gave me the meaning of “brutal” as “extremely ruthless or cruel”. And, it became exactly the intolerable brutal for me during my tour to Brutal Pokhara - Brotherhood of Mayhem gig on 2nd of July, Saturday. We headed to Pokhara at around 12 P.M. from Kathmandu by 17 seated MicroBus. We were stuck at AbhuKhairani at around 4 P.M. because of brutal landslide. But our team did not lose hope to attend that gig. Around 12 AM midnight, the road blockage was cleared and then we resumed our trip. We reached at Prithivi Chowk at 2:45 am ( 3rd of July). By the help of taxi we luckily reached our hotel at 3.15 a.m. and we slept.

Day II

This day was Brutal Fest. We were very much excited to slake our brutal thirst for metal. We entered the venue Thakali Samaj Ghar at 2 P.M. The location was pretty cool, sunlight was banned in venue. I could not see enough sound system as we normally see in even small gigs in Ktm.

I was unfamiliar with most of the bands playing in Brutal Fest except Hatebook. Right from the start of gig, I was very unsatisfied. Some three bands (I could not remember the band names except Dark Murder Scheme) spent more than 1.30 hrs on checking sound system. It was already past 3 PM, even though the gig was supposed to start after 12 PM. On the stage, these bands came and went off after checking their sound – and it was like a boring child game for us. I had never seen those type of sound system checking till now.

Finally, the gig was kicked off by Pokhara’s Dark Guree Amort. This band was in compilation of Brutal Pokhara. They just roughly tried the sound and started playing. They started the show by covering legendry band Slayer's South of Heaven. Fuck the noise produced. I could not distinguish vocal and lead but it was just drum eating the whole sound and other noise from guitar feedback. Yet, the band did not try to adjust the noises before playing another track which was also Slayer cover.

Then 2-3 bands came and played but all were like the same for me. I did not even notice the band's name. Almost all bands played cover songs of Slipknot, Lamb of God, Pantera and so on. No one gave fuck to sound but I could see their face charming for playing. Next it was Narsamhaar on the stage. This was the only tight band from Pokhara. They did three originals and one cover along from Brutal Compilation. Vocal was strong part of Narsamhaar. They left stage after covering Born to Be Wild. Then it was Hatebook on stage.. Hatebook is a rising death metal band from Kathmandu. I am a big fan of Hatebook esp Navin's growling. But Pokhara became unlucky for Hatebook. They did only three tracks and left the stage because of sound problem. They were talented but it was organizer who did not manage good sound system and other crucial part to make a gig like gig. After Hatebook, I left the show and don’t know what happened after that.

Overall, for me it was not like gig. It seemed to me that multiple bands were practicing on same hall. The venue was good , audience were satisfactory but the sound system was fucked up. Plus I noticed that most of the people in the crowd loved covered songs, as they were yelling for Lamb of God cover most of the times. There were only few metal freaks to listen to the band’s originals. Most of bands did cover and few bands Narsamhaar and Hatebook did original in Brutal Fest.

I am very much disappointed with Brutal Pokhara for organizing such a low quality gig.I had a lot of expectation from the gig, especially because of the way it was promoted in Facebook.

Suggestion for Brutal Pokhara for another Gig.
Hire good quality sound system.
Represent few bands rather than many bands.
Do some homework for Gig also as in Promotion.

Vader Plans Nepal Tour to headline Silence Festival 2011

Official Vader Myspace wrote "We also plan gigs in Japan, Asia and Nepal in September".Vader will perform in Nepal as a part of summer campaign for Silence Festival 2011.I am grateful to Silence Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. for inviting Vader in Nepal.I used to listen Vader when I was into death metal at beginning. Venue for this concert probably will be at Jawalakhel Ground.October 15 will be the day Vader playing for Nepal.Band from our Local Scene will be sharing same stage with Vader.Till Now most Probable Nepali Metal/Underground Bands are Black Metal Band Antim Grahan and Death Metal band Hatebook.

Vader is a Polish death metal band from Olsztyn, formed in 1983. According to Piotr Wiwczarek, the band's founding singer and guitar player, the band's name was inspired by Darth Vader from the Star Wars film series. Lyrical themes include stories by H. P. Lovecraft. According to Billboard magazine, from 2003 Vader sold over 500,000 releases around the world.

ktmROCKS Preparing Black Tour for Pokhara,Dharan and Kathmandu

ktmROCKS is back into Underground SCENE of Nepal with the concept of Black Tour.It was specially designed for Metal Freak for Pokhara and Dharan.Focuses to include Black Metal Band .I guess this is the first tour of ktmROCKS in Dharan.

This came into my mind because of all you. Third World Chaos Demo "Inferno" album download

Third world Chaos is hardcore metal formed in 2001 with five members.Parash on vocals Aditya and suvas on guitars,prabin for bass and Pramod on drums.Inferno is their first demo album which was released during 2003.Inferno includes four songs.Rant and Rave and Grave in the sky is standout tracks from their demo.Third world Chaos is inactive now.During their Period they perfomed in many gigs including Ides of March and other gigs organised by ktmROCKS.

Another thing about Third world Chaos is that Vocal sounds quite similar to E.quals 's Vocalist Avishek K.C.

Whatever Inferno is nice workout by Third world Chaos in our Underground SCENE.

Don't Know much about this band. This is the first track I Have listened to Rock Sitar. Rock is composed of Bijaya Vaidya on Sitar,Pratap K.C. on Flute,Suren Lama on Guitar,Deepak Shakya,Bass Guitar and Nikhil Tuladhar for  Drum, Djimbe, Madal.I am going to  get their audio  very soon.

This song "This is war"  is video from their Ep Demo performing live at G's Terrace Thamel. Video was  uploaded by ktmROCKS.Though the space where gig was held but did amazing performance by Jugaa .I was not able to attend that gig. Thank You ktmROCKS for video.

Jugaa is hardcore band From Kathmandu. This is the live video of Jugaa Playing at G's Thamel. Orginal video was upload by ktmROCKS. Audio quality is awesome although captured from Digital Camera. Please See over the video.Evil Inside is the from their EP entitled Fuck The Scene EP which was released in 2008.I will upload this EP on later post.

Diwas Gurung : Jhal Jhali Guitar chords

Diwas Gurung Adhunique Latest EP download

Few Weeks after the release of Rato Mato in Nepal, Diwas Gurung have released another Ep titled "Adhunique".It is the hardwork of his one year.Only Three songs are included in this EP. Pahelo Pote,Jhari and Haami Aayou are songs listed in Adunique.Haami Aayou is the same track which was also featured in ktmROCKS compilation VOL II.Also I have posted Rato Mato a months ago which you can download for free. Hope you might have listened Haami Aayou earlier. Pahelo Pote is also good track. I love the electronic part of this song the way of mixing.The lyrics move around teasing Gurung Girl using word like aapaa,Maichyang,Pote.Different types of Pote's Color are described . Pote is a typical word used for necklace wear by Married girl of Nepal.Another track Jhari relates the raining and emotion develops with Vocalist at night.

Few hours ago, I went through Kalodin's Facebook Fan Page if there was any updates of Kalodin as usual. Today I got something new for kalodin fans over this world. It's a video by Davin Shakya ,guitarist/Founder member of the very band. All guitar works performed by Davin Shakya himself. From the Chat with Davin Shakya he told me that it's not Kalodin's Song. Neath the Skin is first solo composed by him. He is planning to work on solo album which will be instrumental. The Album will be EP only. Not Sure but wish to release Ep in Future added by him . Shakya is currently thinking on selecting the   theme  he should work on. Great work by Davin Shakya horns up bro. Hope to see your EP Soon. Good Luck.\m/.
